About Wilding & Co

Wilding pines are trees which have self-seeded and are causing serious environmental damage to the New Zealand ecosystem. Controlling their unrelenting spread is costing many millions of dollars — wasting what could otherwise be a valuable resource. At Wilding & Co we turn these pests into beautiful products by distilling them into the finest essential oil. Making scents of nature — that is what we do.

Wilding pines are a serious environmental threat

Wilding & Co is an entirely new, sustainable approach

Our solution

Wilding & Co can contain thousands of wilding pines, every year, through the production of beautiful household and commercial products—based on natural pine oil. By making use of resources otherwise wasted, we offer a common-sense alternative to reduce further harm.

We offer an alternative

We can self-fund the continued containment of wilding pines, if residents, businesses and visitors alike used Wilding & Co products.

Fir essential oil and its uses

Wilding pine (fir) essential oil is and invigorating fragrance. Wilding & Co will use fir oil in both personal and commercial products, to infuse them with these qualities. There are many uses for fir oil in your home too—here are a few to get you started.

  • Burn in an oil burner or as a steam inhalation.
  • Use a few drops in your laundry detergent.
  • Mix 10 drops into a cup of warm water and mist over household carpets to freshen.

We’ve written a blog post which explains what essential oil is, and talks a little bit more about the health benefits—and how you can apply it in various ways. Read more.
